Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

Last Christmas, I was 7ish months pregnant.  I knew I was having a girl and kept daydreaming about all the cute Christmas stuff I'd do with then-nameless baby girl.

The day after Christmas, much to Abraham's chagrin, I purchased a 4-foot pink tree for the nursery!  I was so excited to pull it out and decorate it this year.  I had visions of a pink, brown, and white tree to match her bedding, but I couldn't justify buying new stuff when I had so much already.

It's not what I had envisioned, but I'm happy with how it turned out, and I didn't buy anything.  I even used a tutu as a tree skirt!  Now I just have to hide the darn cord...

41 Weeks

What a great week!  We travelled to SM to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa D.

Thanksgiving morning

Thanksgiving consisted of a DELICIOUS meal, good company, and this cutie!

We had a lot to be thankful for!

Grandpa D built E a playhouse that would make any little girl jealous.  Here she is posing in the doorway.

After lunch and a good nap, we cheered on the Cowboys.  Ok - we don't care about football at all, but dressing up in cute outfits is another story.

We also took E to see Santa this week.  She wasn't sure about him, but she didn't cry!

From our family to yours, we hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

40 Weeks

This week was pretty boring - filled with lots of errands and and appointments and stuff.  Not a whole lot to take pictures of!

We took advantage of some nice weather and spent time outside.

I also made sure to get one more pose out of my cornstarch sidewalk paint masterpiece!

E tried eggs for the first time this week.  I'm enjoying being able to give her more than just purees.  Breakfast one morning this week was toast with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, and banana chunks.  Such a big girl!

We are headed to SM on Tuesday to celebrate Thanksgiving with my parents, so hopefully my next blog post will be more interesting.  Have a great week, safe travels if you're going somewhere, and a wonderful time with those you love!

The Zoo

As I mentioned over a week ago, we took E to the zoo for the first time!

Since I don't work outside the home, we look for free or cheap entertainment.  Normally the zoo wouldn't fit that category because adult tickets are $12 a piece, but our debit cards get us in free every first weekend of the month.  They also let you bring in your own food and drinks, so it was a completely free outing (except for gas to get there, of course).

Lunch time!

Right before she passed out, and we headed home...

All in all, E is still a little too young to fully appreciate the zoo, but since it was free, I didn't care!

9 Months

Emery turned 9 months old yesterday!

She had her well child visit today.  Here are her stats for this month:

Weight: 20 pounds 8 ounces
Height: 29 1/4 inches

E's doctor's office has huge aquariums, and she loves to look at all the fish.

E takes 3-4 bottles a day, usually totaling 20-24 oz.  She eats 2-3 solid meals a day and has gradually increased the amount she eats at each meal.  She's gotten really good at feeding herself finger foods, so we've had fun introducing things like toast with cream cheese, diced fruit, cheese, crackers, etc.

Naps have been pretty good lately (I've gotten a couple of 2 1/2 hour ones out of her), and she's dropped to 2 naps a day for the most part.  Nighttime sleep is a whole different story.  She has been waking 3 times on a good night and countless times (think hourly) on bad nights.  I spoke with 2 doctors this week, and we have a game plan, so hopefully I'll have better news to report soon!

E's still working on hitting some of her milestones, but we are working on that too!  She is such a fun little baby, and she gives me lots to be thankful for this holiday season!

39 Weeks

The beginning of this week was pretty boring.  On Wednesday, E wasn't wanting to eat and felt warm.  I took her temperature, and it was 101.6 (the highest it's ever been).  Tylenol took care of the fever, but I took her to the doctor Thursday morning (yes, another sick visit!) so they could rule out an ear infection.  Ears and throat looked good, but they wanted to check her urine just to be safe.  That was not pleasant for mom or baby, but the results were good.  Fever was gone by Friday, and no other symptoms ever popped up.

We had a busy day on Friday.  I subbed, so E spent the day with Grandma K and Daddy.  That night we went to a Thanksgiving dinner at church, so we were all pooped by bedtime!

Last, but not least, E turned 9 months old today!

She has her 9 month appointment tomorrow, so I'll do the official 9 month post then with the stats.

Have a great week!

38 Weeks

It's November already?  I can't believe 2011 is winding down!

We went back to the specialist this week, and although there was not much improvement this month, we talked it over and decided not to do a helmet.

I'm tired, so here are a few pics from this week:

Aunt K sent Emery a bunch of goodies this week.  Here is E sporting one of her new headbands!

Our friends, the S Twins, turned 3 this week, and we celebrated with them at The Little Gym!

This morning we went to the zoo!  Here she is in the parking lot.  I will write a separate post (not tonight) about the trip.

And in case anyone cares, I still make a lot of E's baby food.  Here are the 24 jars I made yesterday!

Have a great week!

4 Years

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary.  It does NOT seem like it's been 4 years.

I know the wedding is just one day, and the marriage is forever, but I sure did love our wedding.

Happy Anniversary Babe!  I love you!
