Hazel ~ 7 Months

As much as refuse to believe another month has gone by, it is once again time for a monthly update!

Hazel continues to be the sweetest baby!  She makes friends everywhere we go by flashing her big smile.

She continues to be more mobile and is enjoying her new freedom!  I'm not quite ready for that, but she looks really cute crawling.

She has never been a big eater, but she seems much happier eating solids.  Some of her favorites are scrambled eggs, avocados, Greek yogurt, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, and MumMums.

Love this sweet face!

Hazel ~ Six Months

Our happy girl is halfway through her first year!  And of course I've been a total blog slacker :(

Hazel continues to be a sweet baby, and was a real trooper during her fight with salmonella.

She desperately wants to move around and has started rocking on all fours.

She's a tall, skinny thing - 91% for height and 16% for weight!

I can't believe it's been sixth months since we welcomed our sweet girl.  She fits right in, and we are so happy to have her in our lives!

Super Hero Tutu Dresses

Halloween is fast approaching, and I have been so excited to have two girls this year so we could do coordinating costumes!
I enjoy making costumes (ok I enjoy all crafting), so I took to Pinterest to get some ideas.

I've had my eye on super hero tutu dresses for the last two years, and this year I decided to make it happen.

If you know me very well, you know how much I love The Hair Bow Company.  They've been posting all kinds of cute tutu dress costumes lately, and they stock all the necessary supplies like crochet tops, tulle, and ribbon!  They even have a
Tutu Making Kit that's only $4.99.

I was planning to just wing it, but I'm so glad I had the kit!  It came with detailed instructions and a few handy items like a crochet hook and measuring tape that made things easier.  Having everything I needed right from the get-go definitely saved me time.

I was really surprised how easy the costumes were to make, and I know they are going to be a hit on Halloween.

So without further ado, here is a sneak peek at Emery and Hazel's costumes for this year!

Obviously I chose Batman and Robin, but you could easily make these for any super hero.  And check out The Hair Bow Company's blog for tons of other tutu dress costume ideas.  If you have a princess-obsessed daughter, you'll love some of the costumes they've created.

Also, as I side note, the reason I didn't go for the tutu dresses in the past is that I didn't like the see-through nature of the crochet tops.  BUT, you can get lined ones from The Hair Bow Company, so that sealed the deal for me!

You'll have to wait for Halloween to see my cuties all dressed up!

*Disclosure:  The Hair Bow Company sent me the Tutu Making Kit and all the materials to make these tutu dresses, but I was planning to purchase it all from them anyway!  The ideas and opinions are all my own.

Hazel ~ Five Months

Hazel turned 5 months old this week!

And I am SO. BEHIND. ON. BLOGGING.
I will catch up one of these days!

Hazel is as sweet as ever, and we just love her to pieces!

Another month has flown by in the blink of an eye!

18 and 19 Weeks

18 Weeks

She's been loving her fingers!

We went out for a big family dinner, so of course I had to have my cuties matching!
Frozen yogurt date :)

Full of smiles

In addition to her fingers, Hazel likes to self-soothe by playing with her hair.

I'm working on a gallery wall, and when Emery saw this picture, she thought it was Hazel.  I don't think she believed me when I told her it was her as a baby!

We headed to the water park for one more hurrah before the season ended.  It was cloudy and the water was freezing, but Emery had a great time!

Daddy and Hazel opted to stay mostly on the sidelines!

19 Weeks

Hazel loves to chew on stuff - hands, teethers, blankets, you name it!

She also found her feet this week and started really rolling back to stomach with ease (which made for some rough nights of sleep!)

We had her 4 month well check, and poor thing didn't know she was about to get 4 shots :(

This was a blissful night right before her roly-poly ways caught up with us!

Wild-haired girl!

Love our video monitor!

This big girl is now a bus rider!  Hazel gets to take her afternoon nap without being interrupted, and other than some tears the first day, Emery seems to enjoy it.

Have a great week!

Hazel ~ 4 Months

Hazel turned 4 months old yesterday!

The last 4 months have flown by!
I can't believe we are 1/3 of the way to a year :(

16 and 17 Weeks

Looks like I'm a bit behind again!  Here are the highlights from the last two weeks.

16 Weeks Old!

We got a new-to-us jumper.  Hazel is a little small for it, but she looks really cute!

We had a fun (and very hot) morning at the park with friends.  I managed to only take a picture of Hazel!

I can't get enough of this cute girl!

And put the two of them together - oh my cuteness!

We got professional portraits done of Emery several times throughout her first year, so we are trying to keep up with that for Hazel too.  These are a few of her 3 Month(ish) portraits.

Daddy turned 31!  Abraham and I met when we were 21, and now here we are almost a decade later with a nice little life and two gorgeous children!

17 Weeks Old!

Getting so big :)

We set up Hazel's high chair, and she seems to enjoy sitting in it.  We're not going to start solids yet, but it's nice to have her with us for meals.

Sweet sister snuggles

Emery started PK3 this week.  I thought I'd try and get a Pinterest-worthy photo.  As you can tell, Emery was not on board with my idea!

She really was happy though, and she loves school!

Hazel and I have enjoyed our one-on-one time while big sister is in school.

But it's good to be reunited again after school!

We are enjoying a visit from Grandma and Grandpa this weekend.

Have a great Labor Day!
