50 Weeks

What a week!  I mentioned last week that Emery and I were going on a roadtrip for my Grandfather's funeral.  We drove about 1400 miles I think - a total of 26 hours there and back!  Emery was surprisingly good in the car.

We stopped occasionally to let her stretch.  This was taken at a rest stop that had a great playground.

The circumstances were not ideal, but it was nice to see my family since we didn't make it up there for Christmas this year.  

The ABSOLUTE highlight of the week was getting to see my Grandma and having Emery meet her for the first time.  I will treasure this next picture forever, and I hope as Emery gets older, she will too!

The funeral was lovely, and lots of family and friends were in attendance.

Emery was having a hard time because she wants to crawl around and be moving constantly, but one of the ladies from the funeral home walked her up and down the hall at the church so that I could enjoy the service.

 Emery always wants to play on the gate to the kitchen.  This would be fine if she didn't constantly fall and bump her head.  So we have to create a barricade to keep her from going there constantly!

49 Weeks

I really made an effort this week to take pictures with my actual camera, and I think I did pretty well!

In case you missed the big news, Emery is officially a crawler!

Our days now consist mostly of crawl, crawl, crawl, pull up, jump up and down, fall down, cry, rinse, and repeat.

Emery has been fighting naps for awhile.  On Monday, I put her down for a nap, but she never went to sleep. I took her out of her crib, put her in the Jumperoo, and this happened.

She wasn't tired though...

Unfortunately my grandfather passed away yesterday, so Emery and I will be taking a road trip to be at the funeral.  Meanwhile, Abraham is flying to Tennessee for work.  Please keep our safe travel in your thoughts and prayers.

Pigtails at the Park

Other than being windy and a little humid, we had great weather today.  Emery started to get a little stir crazy, so I packed her up and we walked to the park.  She had such a great time!

A trip to the park will make a girl thirsty!

Houston, we have a crawler (finally)!

Emery has been sort of crawling for a couple of weeks, but as of yesterday, she is a full blown crawler!

I am really glad she finally achieved this milestone, but she is definitely keeping my on my toes now!

48 Weeks

Emery turned 11 Months old this week!  I guess I really need to get on the party planning.

We met up with JP and his Mommy earlier in the week at Gymboree.  I didn't get a chance to take any pictures, so luckily JP's Mommy snapped a couple for me!

11 Months

I'm choosing not to acknowledge that 11 is only 1 less than 12.  It just can't be possible.

Although sometimes she can pass for a sullen teenager!

No doctor's appointment this month, so here are my at-home measurements:

Height: 30 inches

Weight: 22 pounds

Eating is about the same as last month: 3 8 oz. bottles, 3 solid meals.  I'm really trying to move away from baby food and more toward table food.  It's just hard because it's so easy to feed her a jar of baby food!

She loves chunks of bananas, pears, or strawberries, and I recently discovered she'll gobble up blueberries!  She LOVES grilled cheese sandwiches, and today I made her some whole wheat banana pancakes that she also enjoyed.  

Nighttime sleep is still good, but naps have been horrible lately.  I'm hoping they will get back to normal soon!

I wish I could say that it just looks like she's picking her nose in that picture, but she actually stuck her finger in her nose, pulled out a booger, and ate it.  Let's hope that was just a fluke!

Happy 11 Month Birthday, Emery Anne!  Let's make this next month go really slow, okay?

47 Weeks

I took lots of pictures this week, but they were all on my phone.  I need to work on that, but it's just so convenient because I always have my phone.  Plus, the flash makes Emery blink in most pictures, so the ones on my phone often turn out better.

Mostly, Emery played and made messes this week!

The weather was great, so a walk to the park was in order.

Since Daddy had to work yesterday, Emery and I went to the Children's Museum.
