Happy Halloween!

Halloween is such a fun holiday, and I enjoyed it even more as a mommy!  I made E's costume, and had a blast putting it all together.

She was a hit at the grocery store today.

I really like carving pumpkins, and I hope to get Emery in on it when she's older!  Here is this year's creation:

We opted to stay in tonight and just hand out candy.

E liked to help get the candy out!

Here are some other cute pictures from today:

I bought this bib last Halloween when I was pregnant with E!

I hope you had a spooktacular Halloween!

37 Weeks

I'm going to try to keep it short tonight.  It's been a long weekend, and I am ready for bed!

If you haven't already read it, check out my post from yesterday about our trip to the doctor.  I forgot to mention that E weighed 20 lbs. 13 oz.

E isn't feeling 100% because of the meds she's on.  I feel bad for her, and I hate having to force them on her.

Here are a few pictures from earlier in the week.

This bow is part of E's Halloween costume.  Can you tell what she's going to be?

Last but not least, we hope Aunt Kelly had a GREAT birthday this week!

Have a great week, and stay tuned for cute Halloween pictures!

First Sick Visit

Well the K family spent all morning at the pediatrician's office and Walgreens.  E isn't technically sick, but this is the first time we've had to go for anything other than a well child check up.

So...remember last week when I mentioned how bad the mosquitoes were in Houston?  Well, they are called flood water mosquitoes, and I hate them.  It seems that E takes after me in the mosquito magnet department, and we have both been eaten alive this week.  I haven't even been taking her out.  They are attacking us in our own home!

At first, it didn't seem like E had much of a reaction to the bites, but after a few days, that changed.  They bites got big and bright red and didn't seem to respond to any sort of treatment.  I spoke with a nurse yesterday, and she said to bring her in if they weren't better by this morning.  When we got up, they were actually worse, so we headed to the doctor.

This picture was taken Wednesday morning.  Do you see the little red dot on her cheek?

This is the same bite this morning.  Pretty big difference, but that's not even close to being her biggest bite.

This one on her thigh was the most concerning to me (and the doctor) because of size and coloring.

The doctor went ahead and put E on antibiotics just in case because she is concerned about infection.  Other than that, we will just continue to treat the bites with hydro-cortisone cream and Benadryl.

I have to say that E did GREAT at the doctor considering she had to give up her morning nap to be there!

Hope you are having a great weekend so far!

36 Weeks - Pumpkin Patch

These photo sessions are getting harder and harder.  Today's session consisted of about a million pictures like this:

We had great weather the first part of this week, so we took advantage of it and met up with JP and his mommy for a picnic at the park.

We installed E's convertible carseat this week.  Here she is passed out in it after the park.

E also started sleeping on her stomach some this week, which was new.

E practiced her self-feeding skills a lot this week, and she is getting so much better!  I have been having a lot of fun trying new finger foods.  Here she is eating pieces of toast with cream cheese and chunks of plum.

She also tried to escape out the front door, backwards of course!

I just liked this picture because of her belly and how blue her eyes looked.

On Friday, about 35 billion mosquitoes descended on Houston, and naturally, that was the day I had picked to go to the pumkin patch.  It was HORRIBLE, but here are some cute pictures we took before we fled to the safety of our car.

We had two special birthdays in our family this week, so I'll leave you with E's birthday wishes for her cousin and great-grandmother!

35 Weeks

This week was nice and relaxing! Emery and I had a girls week since Daddy was out of town for work.  We went shopping, made tutus, went to lunch with some friends, and had Miss Lori over for dinner.

Lets discuss E's hair.  It is wild.  There is a lot of it.  It cannot be tamed, but I do my best.

This is what her hair looks like when she wakes up in the morning:

After I get it out of her face:

It's getting SO long in the back that I can now braid it, but I don't because it looks weird to only have your mullet braided.  Ok I did it once just to see if I could.  And I took a picture of it:

In other shocking news, my tiny little baby turned 8 months old this week.

It sneaks up on me every month, but at the last minute, I finished up her onesie, tutu, and matching bow.  I might be a little biased, but I thought it turned out really cute!

Our good friends, The S Family, have passed down many baby items to E, including this adorable ducky tub. We upgraded to this from the infant tub this week, and it was a hit.

Here is a video of E's first bath in the new tub.

After her bath in the big girl tub, we put her in her new big girl pajamas.

Who is this little girl impersonating my tiny baby?

E loves to be outside, and the weather lately has made it much more enjoyable.

The S Family also gave us a swing (and the toys in the last picture), so Daddy set it up this weekend.  I think it will get a lot of use.

I don't have any photographic evidence of my last tidbit because I was too excited to think about grabbing the camera.  I have been really trying to get Emery to self-feed, but until today, she has had ZERO interest.  BUT, today she fed herself 3 cheerios, 1 Lil Crunchy, and 4 yogurt melts.  Yay!

Have a great week!
