Monday Check In: Catch Up

It's harder to do things like this when I'm working, so I have to play catch up today since it's a holiday.

The past two weeks have been really hard as far as eating right/exercising because I'm at work all day and don't want to think about that stuff when I come home.  All I can do is hope that things get better once school is out (only 4 more days)!

So here are my stats for the last two weeks.

Week 9 Stats (14 weeks PP)
Weight GAINED:  +1.7 lbs.
Total Lost:  33.4 lbs.
Remaining Weight:  9.6 lbs.

(I was clearly not happy with the scale last week, but at least my remaining weight was still under 10 lbs).

Week 10 Stats (15 weeks PP)
Weight Lost:  -2.6 lbs.
Total Lost:  36.0 lbs.
Remaining Weight:  7.0 lbs.

In the last 10 weeks, I've lost 8.5 lbs, so I'm a little more than half way there...

15 Weeks

Emery had a great week!  She and Grandma D played and sang and hung out all week while Daddy and I worked.  Her new milestone this week was rolling from her back to her stomach.  Only Grandma D got to witness this event, so we are hoping she'll do it again soon!

E's hair is getting so long that I thought I'd try pigtails.  It worked and she just looked adorable!

E is also now ready to hit the beach or the pool.  I've been looking for a cute bathing suit for her, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I'm not sure how much use we'll get out of it.  Luckily, I found this one at The Children's Place for about $5.50, and I think it's adorable.

This weekend was fun because we went to a graduation party for two of my cousins.  Emery was such a good girl and met lots of family for the first time.  Somehow I got 0 pictures of this event (I think I was talking too much).  So instead, here are a few other cute pictures:

We are excited that tomorrow is a holiday because we need to relax after this weekend!  And I only have 4 more days until I'm out for summer and back with my cutie every day.

We got E a Jumperoo this afternoon, so stay tuned for some cute pictures soon!

14 Weeks

The biggest event this week was that Mommy went back to work.  It was an adjustment, but we are very lucky to have Grandma D here watching E while I'm gone.

I was much busier during the week than I have been in awhile, so I didn't take any pictures until Friday.  It's okay though because I caught up quickly!

We had a great weekend, and E was such a good girl even though we toted her all around town.  She even went to the church nursery for the first time today and did great!

Lately she's loved chewing on her hands.

We took a trip to Babies R Us today to try out some jumperoos, and she loved it!

Here are some other cute pictures from this week(end):

2 more weeks of school and then I get to spend my days with this little cutie again!!!

Monday Check In : Week 8

I am extremely happy with this week's results because I was really busy, and I was worried I might gain a little (especially after last week's great loss).  I tried to watch what I ate, but we spent a 3 day weekend at my parents' house and that can be dangerous for the waistline!  I did run/walk 4 times this week (including once at my parents' house).

Week 8 Stats (13 weeks PP)
Weight Lost:  -0.8 lbs.
Total Lost:  35.1 lbs.
Remaining Weight:  7.9 lbs.

I go back to work tomorrow, so I am worried about finding the time (and energy) to run.  BUT, I move around much more at work than I do at home, so maybe that will help!

I reached my ice cream goal!  I lost just the right amount to be able to enjoy a bowl of ice cream.  I might make this count and treat myself to some Cold Stone Creamery.

My motivation to keep it up this week:  bikini.  I tried on a bikini this week just for kicks, and I decided that with a little more work, the right cut of bathing suit, and some decent sun exposure, I could totally wear a 2 piece this summer (maybe not the beginning of summer, but sometime this summer)!

3 Months!

I can't believe my big girl is 3 months old!

We are in SM this weekend visiting my parents.  We had E's 3 month portraits taken by the photographer that shot our wedding along with other family photos.  E looked adorable but did NOT cooperate.  We couldn't get the slightest smile out of her, and she cried more than anything.  The photographer is great and works wonders, so I hope she was able to get something cute.

E celebrated her 3 month birthday with a milestone!  She has been close to rolling from her stomach to her back for a couple of weeks, but she could never figure out how to get over her arm.  She did it today though!  Grandma D and I were there to witness the feat and gave her lots of applause and praise.  We have not been able to recreate the moment for Daddy and Grandpa D, but we are working on it!

I just can't believe how fast E is growing.  It seems like I just started dressing her in 3 month clothes (that swallowed her), and now she is in 6 month stuff.  I went out and bought several 9 month outfits because we don't have a ton of stuff bigger than 6 months, and I'm sure it will sneak up on me!

Happy 3 Month Birthday Baby Girl!!!

Monday Check In : Week 7

I weighed in this morning knowing that no matter what, I would be happy with the outcome because I worked my behind off this week.  I ran/walked/sprinted 5 times this week for a total of over 10 miles.  I also worked on running longer periods without walking and got in several stretches of 5-6 minutes (which is awesome for me since I am most definitely NOT a runner).

I also kept my food in check this week.  I had a lot of motivation after seeing the weight gain last week!

Week 7 Stats (12 weeks PP)
Weight Lost:  -3.3 lbs.
Total Lost:  34.3 lbs.
Remaining Weight:  8.7 lbs.

I feel very motivated this week for several reasons:

1.  Working hard last week and seeing good results makes me want to do it again!
2.  I have less than 10 pounds to lose now which seems less daunting!
3.  I still can't button my pre-pregnancy pants, but I can get them over my hips and fasten them with a rubber band which is something I could not do until recently!
4.  I haven't eaten ice cream since I was pregnant, and I made a deal with myself that I get to eat a bowl of ice cream when I get below a certain weight.  I am only 0.8 lbs. from reaching this goal!

This is my last week of maternity leave, and I know it will be harder to exercise once I go back to work, so I really want to make this week count.

12 Weeks - Happy Mother's Day!

Emery and I didn't have much to do at the beginning of this week, which was nice.  On Friday, we went up to my school to celebrate the birthdays of two of my coworkers.  It was fun, but short (darn 30 minute teacher lunch breaks).  Later that day, we picked up supplies to make 2 tutus.  I have finished one, and it was so much fun!

And of course, today was Mother's Day!  E has a special message for all the mommies out there.

We started off the day at church, where Emery was dedicated to the Lord.  If you read my post about Emery's books, you can add one more (for a total of 110)!  Our church was kind enough to give Emery a children's story Bible to celebrate her dedication.  I am excited to add this into our bedtime reading.

E had two fun milestones this week.  First of all, she started laughing, which is hilarious!  I wish I could capture it on camera, but I haven't been able to so far.  She also started being much more interactive with her toys.  I had told Abraham early in the week that I was worried because she didn't really bat at her toys, and the next day she decided to prove me wrong.  She's been batting, kicking, and grabbing ever since!

As always, here are a few more cute photos from this week.

Books

I like to read.
I think reading is important.
I read to Emery every night as part of her bedtime routine.

Because of this, I want Emery to have a lot of books.  When she was born, her collection was less than impressive (maybe 10).  But in the (almost) 3 months she's been alive, she's been blessed to receive so many more as gifts from our awesome friends and family.

Her closet was getting a little out of control, so on Thursday I reorganized it and found a nice spot for all 109 of her books.

All of the books between the piggy bank and the Disneyland picture frame are Little Golden Books that belonged to Abraham when he was little.  They all have his name in the front, along with the year they were given to him.  What a treasure!

She also has her very own tiny pink Bible that Grandma K
gave her for Easter.

We are having so much fun working our way through all the books, and it is nice to have some variety!

Monday Check In : Week 6 (Wednesday Edition)

I didn't post Monday because I didn't like the numbers on the scale!  It's my blog and I can do that.

The numbers have come down slightly since then, but I'll be honest and use Monday's numbers since that's the point.  I was better about exercising last week.  I walked a total of 4 times last week, and during 2 of those walks, I sprinted short stretches throughout the walk.

Apparently that didn't do the trick, though, and I think I need to take a better look at my eating.  I've been trying to watch what I eat, but that doesn't always happen.

Week 6 Stats (11 weeks PP)
Weight GAINED:  +1.3 lbs.
Total Lost:  31 lbs.
Remaining Weight:  12 lbs.

Boo for weight gain.  I was really looking forward to having less than 10 pounds remaining, but I guess that will have to be another day.  Good luck to all my other new mommy friends who are in the same boat!

11 Weeks

I got so busy tonight, I almost forgot to post this!
(Yes, I know this isn't the most flattering photo, but I thought it was hilarous!)

Not much to share this week, but 3 main bullet points:
  • E is officially sleeping in her crib!
  • She is still sleeping well and last night slept over 10 hours without even a peep!
  • She has started laughing - it is the cutest thing!
Last but not least, a few cute pictures.

Have a great week!
